Jess and TJ, what can I say. A beautiful church, a back garden reception, surprise wedding dog and an Audi. This had all the makings of an awesome wedding. Jess and TJ are a ridiculous cute couple together and the wedding was full of laughter and joy. They got married in Chelmsford, Essex and I went along to be their wedding photographer.
The day started out at Jess’ mums house where the hair and make up action was in full swing by the time I arrived. I had the awesome Martin Hobby assisting me on this one, and he went off to cover the groom preps at their farm. I always leave the photos in order of the time they were taken, rather than separate out the bride preps from the groom preps. I think its interesting to see what was going on at each place at the same time.
Jess was surprised with a lovely gift from TJ, a Rolex and some trainers! After the bridal preps were over, I headed off to St Mary the Virgin Church in Bulphan for the ceremony. The guests were already filling up the church and the sun was out in full. The vicar was pretty cool and reminded me a little of Harvey Keitel. The church was a quaint little place and it was full to the rafters for the ceremony, we also had two videographers for the day which made space a little bit tight up the front, but between us all I think we pulled it off
After the ceremony was over, everyone made their way back to their cars and headed off to the reception. The reception was being held at TJs parents farm. A huge marquee had been put up in the field and was decorated beautifully. White seemed to be the theme, with lots of roses and my favourite part was the clear chairs that they had. I have to admit that I have never seen a wedding cake as huge as these guys had, alas I left before I got a chance to try it out.
If you’ve been on my blog before, you know I’m a sucker for an emotional groom and TJ was no exception during the speeches. His ushers and best man were on hand though and soon rallied by his side to offer him encouragement and he carried on. One huge surprise that TJ had planned for Jess was her wedding gift. One of the ushers got up to gave a speech and introduced Jess gift, a beautiful Audi! It certainly put my old Astra to shame.
Once the speeches were done and the sun had started setting, we headed out for some portraits. There was a lovely meadow next to the field which myself and the videographers made use of, however something else had caught my eye when I parked up. There were a few old buildings that looked amazing, one of which was a massive old garage. Martin climbed up the side of a container and used a flash head through the skylight to light up the couple just where I wanted them, I think it worked rather well and I love the juxtopostion of the smartly dressed bride and groom in amongst the dusty old garage.
Anyway, I could talk and talk about this wedding all day, but instead let me let the photos do the talking. Here’s my highlights from Jess and TJs wedding in Essex.
